Dr. McCarthy is active as a Conductor, Horn Player, and Music Educator in the Northern Virginia area.  She is currently the Music Director and Conductor of the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra in Manassas, Virginia and an Orchestra Director for the Arlington Public Schools. She served as the Music Director of the Loudoun Symphony String Workshop from 2005-2008 and has guest conducted orchestras in Virginia, California and Louisiana.
